Connecting with Xinjiang's Handicraft Pulse
Each chisel stroke is a craftsman's silent poem
喀什 ·非遗与烟火长明
"Silk Road Promise · Art Bazaar" is an immersive art exhibition space originating in Kashgar,
blending intangible cultural heritage, contemporary art, and local handicrafts.
We strive to transcend traditional static displays of intangible heritage.
Through three dimensions—artistic creation, handicraft workshops, and cultural gifts—
we breathe new life into millennia-old Silk Road culture within a contemporary context.
"Kashgar Time" continuously showcases works by domestic and international contemporary artists themed around Kashgar—from the shifting desert light in oil paintings to poetic moments of nomadic life captured in photography; from reconstructed textures of the ancient city in sculptures to deconstructed Silk Road symbols in digital art.
Through diverse perspectives, artists transform Kashgar's natural landscapes, folk customs, and contemporary spirit into visual language, inviting viewers to touch the "present moment" of Kashgar through the dialogue between art and reality.
Resident artists delve into pastoral regions surrounding Kashgar, collaborating with local artisans to create the "Shared Prosperity Workshop" and "Farmers and Herders Handicrafts."
Each piece is a gift sculpted by time, carrying the wind of the grasslands, the rhythm of pastoral songs, and the wisdom of life. We reject standardized production, embracing only the "imperfections" and "uniqueness" of handcrafted work, ensuring every gift carries the artisan's warmth and story.
The Silk Road Promise creative team curates ritual objects from Xinjiang's diverse ethnic groups—transforming the craftsmanship of twelve Muqam instruments into refrigerator magnets, reimagining the artistry of Kashgar knife handles...
Through modern design, the team reinterprets traditional craftsmanship, transforming these objects steeped in custom and emotion into mobile symbols of Xinjiang culture. Whether gifted to loved ones or collected as keepsakes, each piece embodies a tangible ritual memory.
